A Fun and Meaningful Way to Help the Pyrs We Love
Welcome to the 12th Annual AGPR Calendar Photo Contest—our biggest and most beloved fundraiser of the year! And this year we want to GO BIG!!! It is the 20th anniversary of Appalachian Great Pyrenees Rescue being a non-profit. Bard to believe…we’ve been rescuing Great Pyrenees in need for well over 20 years.
Each photo entry and every single vote helps Appalachian Great Pyrenees Rescue care for the amazing dogs in our care—many of whom have been with us for over a year (some approaching 7 years). With more dogs in need, rising costs, fewer adoptions, and less robust donations, your support truly makes a difference. Our 2027 goal: $25,000—and we believe we can do it with your help!

Whether they’re goofy, regal, snuggly, or just full of personality, we want to see your Great Pyrenees shine. For a $25 entry fee (which includes 20 votes to get you started because it is our 20 year non-profit anniversary), submit your favorite high-quality photo and rally your friends, family, coworkers, and followers to vote your pup to the top!
Yes, quirks are welcome. Yes, other furry companions can join. No humans in the pics, please.
How it works:
- $25 entry fee = 20 starting votes
- Votes are $1 each—vote early and often!
- Top vote-getter is featured on the 2027 calendar cover AND as a January Pyr of the Month
- Based on feedback we got from you, we will continue to share each month with two Pyrs!
- That means a total of 24 Pyrs will grace the monthly pages.
- All entries appear somewhere in the calendar…the more fluff, the merrier!

Want to see your beloved Pyr in the AGPR 2027 Calendar? For just a $20 donation, you can feature your dog’s photo on a date that’s special to you—like a birthday, adoption day, or anniversary.

Note: Due to the small size of the date blocks, a single Pyr’s photo works best. While photos with two animals are fine for the main contest, we recommend using solo shots for the best fit in the squares.
Every reserved date helps provide food, shelter, and love for the dogs at AGPR. These squares are small but mighty—and make a big impact.

Please consider pre-ordering a calendar. This will help us purchase the right amount of calendars so we don’t waste valuable funds on extra stock. Calendars will be mailed and the price is holding at $25 which includes shipping.
