Recent Rescues in Need
UPDATE May 2019 – The dogs taken in are all doing well. We still need help (see below) but thought you would like to see how your efforts (donations and help at the rescue) are turning out. Please enjoy this little video of all the wonderful puppies and dogs.
To all our Appalachian Great Pyrenees Rescue supporters – we need your help. We recently were asked to help with a hoarding situation in the western part of Virginia. We quickly stepped up and brought in a number of Pyrs ranging from 1 week old to 11 years old (with several more coming in this weekend).
They’ve received at least one or two baths and a grooming session since arriving and most have been to the vet for a health check up. All were scared and unsure of what was happening Wednesday. Today many of them have warmed up to us and were enjoying the attention (and all the raw chicken).
Our local Petco partner has helped with a donation of dog food but all of these dogs will need health checks and the necessary shots/vaccines, spay/neuter surgery, and possibly deworming.
Please consider helping us with a donation or by visiting the kennel and spending some time socializing/walking/grooming these wonderful Pyrs. There’s a whole lotta love needed and we’d appreciate it.
If you would like to come to the kennels we will be coordinating best times and help needed through email so please send an email to agpr-news@verizon.net
