Meet Nala!
Meet Nala! She is one of regulars here at AGPR, and has been living with us since 2018. If you would like to help support the pups who are with us for the long haul, you can become a recurring donor! Even $5 a month is a huge help, and allows us to provide food, toys, treats, and medical care to to dogs who are difficult to home.

You can also email us at agpr-news@verizon.net for more information! And a great big thank you to all of our current regular and recurring donors. We couldn’t do this work without you!
Nala came to AGPR after her owners surrendered her to a Virginia shelter in July 2018. Nala’s previous owners could no longer care for her given her mobility issues. She was five and a half years old when she came to AGPR, significantly overweight, and had limited use of her hind legs. Despite several specialty vet visits, there was nothing that could be done to fix her legs.
While Nala’s back legs don’t function like most other dogs’, she doesn’t let her condition slow her down. With our help, Nala lost weight which significantly improved her “scooting” ability. While she cannot do stairs, she has no trouble performing her daily duties during her outings in nature and she truly loves life! She is cautious when meeting new people, but once Nala knows you, you have a friend for life (especially if you have yummy dog treats in your pocket). What does Nala love more than dog treats? Her “wheels”! Thanks to wonderful supporters, Nala can be saddled up in her pink cart and go hiking with us…she’s pretty fast, so squirrels beware!
Nala is one of several Pyrs who benefits from our Recurring Donation Program. She loves all her friends here at AGPR and may spend the rest of her senior years overseeing our rescue office and keeping everyone in line. If you would like to help Nala and others through our Recurring Donation Program, please go to our website for more information.
We thank all of our donors – we could not do what we do for these dogs without your support!
